Patch of the year

There is little doubt that the patch of 2010 is http://drupal.org/files/issues/name-change.patch

I do not even know where to start...

  • Have you ever seen such a geek announcement of a marriage?
Congrats, Jacine! Similar stories are usually told by men -- and in way less cool fashion. :)
  • Out of 47 core maintainers, 6 are female. 12% is not much -- but way higher than the usual one-figure number for women in open source. Also in Drupal 6, this was 16:0. Ouch.
  • We actually have two people looking after the markup of Drupal core.
  • It reminds us that Drupal is written by living, feeling people not just nicknames on a website.

I thought that was classic as well when I spotted that.

It's great to see that! Congratulations to Jacine, and I'm glad she got that bug fixed before the official D7 release!
