Marion Zimmer Bradley: The Firebrand

http://www.amazon.com/Firebrand-Marion-Zimmer-Bradley/dp/0671744062/ was the first book I read from Bradley, and it's very good. I dig history very much as you will see as the blog unfolds and this one is about Cassandra of Troy. The author is in an easy position as the factual knowledge from this era is almost nil.

I dislike the usual 'the character development' etc from usual book reviews, so I will simply skip it. What's intriguing in this book is how familiar stories from the Illiad and other legends suddenly get a totally everyday explanation. Also, the pace is fantastic, it's very hard to put down this one (most books I will mention here are such).
