If Solr Suddenly Stoped Working on Your Drupal Site

Somebody thought it was a good idea to use the Drupal Planet for bug reports. Guess what? It's not. Please don't. There is a proper workflow for these things. Oh and guess what again? There is already an issue in the queue, Damien and Dries are both on it so what the heck more do you want? You are not helping anyone by purporting a half-solution. And I reply in a separate post 'cos if I'd write a comment noone would read that.

So which queue is it in?!! I appreciated that he offered a (half) solution to a problem I am currently facing. That's better than the non solution you provided. I have searched drupal_http_request() and got no search results for feedapi.

So, rather than censoring/re-writing people's blog entries (hello?!) and complaining, why don't you post some helpful info?

the original article (that i linked) has the issue link and i posted the solution there.

Found it. Thank, Karoly. I see I over-reacted. I apologize. But I do still admit to being really confused about what you said about Drupal Planet. I thought Drupal Planet was simply an aggregator of all blogs that mention Drupal. In any capacity. People say happy holidays. Dries posts photos on his blog. Nick and many others post also sorts of solutions to different things. I readily agree that solutions to issues should FIRST be posted in issue queues, but if someone comes up with a solution that he or she feels merits inclusion in his or her blog, I don't see any problem with it. As I said, this particular solution, whether half or not, is not easy to find in the issue queues. My two cents...

Be nice to chx he does a lot for us. He was right to correct the placement of an unconstructive complaint, as this is not what Drupal Planet is for. Also, he has offered so many solutions for drupal, that drupal would be far less than what it is without his tireless efforts. So be nice! :) Thanks!

today, when reading drupal planet, I just saw someone being grumpy at someone else who was just trying to help

most of the time though, I manage to associate "Drupal community" with "friendliness"

in this case, the proper workflow would be to read your post again and try to balance whether it does more harm than good
